A rich and delicious Texas Turtle Sheet Cake topped with pecans and drizzled with caramel.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a large sheet pan.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Add oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in boiling water until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan.
- Once cooled, drizzle caramel sauce on top and sprinkle with pecans.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- For a richer flavor, add more pecans.
- Serve with whipped cream for added taste.
