Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 11 oz bag soft caramels, unwrapped
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp sea salt plus more for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Mix butter, sugars, and vanilla. Add flour and salt to form a soft dough.
  • Press ⅔ of dough into pan; bake for 20 minutes.
  • Melt caramels with cream until smooth. Pour over crust.
  • Crumble remaining dough over caramel. Bake another 20–25 minutes.
  • Cool, top with sea salt, slice, and serve.
