- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 11 oz bag soft caramels, unwrapped
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ½ tsp sea salt plus more for topping
Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
Mix butter, sugars, and vanilla. Add flour and salt to form a soft dough.
Press ⅔ of dough into pan; bake for 20 minutes.
Melt caramels with cream until smooth. Pour over crust.
Crumble remaining dough over caramel. Bake another 20–25 minutes.
Cool, top with sea salt, slice, and serve.
