Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Food coloring optional, pastel shades

Frosting:

  • Buttercream butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, milk, and food coloring as needed

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch heart-shaped pans.
  • Prepare Batter: Whisk flour and baking powder. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one by one, then mix in vanilla. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until smooth.
  • Bake: Divide batter between pans and bake for 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
  • Frost & Decorate: Frost with buttercream, smooth with a spatula, and pipe intricate pastel designs using decorative tips.
